Conclusive Newscasters

Wow, three from the same newscast, they were on fire tonight!  This is another quick one so I'll get right to it.

I'm sure everyone is aware of the "bath salt" drug issue.  But here is the problem, they are suddenly the first thought for every news story.  There was the story of the guy who bit the homeless person and was killed because he wouldn't stop.  Every newscast jumped on to the attacker being on bath salts.  Problem was that the toxicology report showed that he didn't have any in his system.  Not enough for you?  Read the papers (or do as I do and browse the news sites), you will find an example very easily!

But what brought about this rant is a local story.  Last night a body washed up on the shore of a local lake right near the end of the local newscast so it was put off until the late news.  I wasn't awake for that but I heard all about the story.  In the newscast they stated that the gentlemen was acting very strange the last time he was seen by friends and relatives.  He was supposedly seen trying to break into homes in the area in the hours before his body was discovered.  The conclusion of the anchor, he was on bath salts.

This is just another example of how the media has stopped reporting on the news and begun (or rather continued) to create the news.  I suppose that is one way to get the scoop before everyone else.
