Streaming Services Don't Pay

Got tonight's idea from watching one of my favorite netcasts, TWiG.  This Week in Google talks about much more than just Google.  It talks about a lot of technology happenings from the week.  One of this week's topics had to do with a decision made by Taylor Swift.  And I've had enough of the lies and twisted truth being spewed about this.

Password Resets and Account Closing

Early in the morning and I've already got something to go off about.  There's no trickery involved with the title of this one.  It has to do with password resets and how I hate the way things are handled to make your account "safe" from hackers.

Such Disrespect

We're Sorry, We are Investigating

So, there's been a lot of issues lately with major companies.  And they all give us the same song and dance.  But who is suffering with all of these?  Perhaps you can guess where I'm going with this, or maybe you can't.  There's been a ton of companies lately with major data breaches or serious customer service flaws.  And consumers, that's me and you, are suffering from it...

That Doesn't Apply to Me

Alright, life has gotten in the way of all the griping I want to do so what it looks like is that something is going to have to really bother me in order for me to post.  And I've got a good one tonight!  I may have complained about something similar before but I just don't want to look as I know this is something I've never seen before.

Why is it Such a Surprise?

Why Yes, It's Free

With the cool and damp weather we've been having, I haven't had much ambition to get outside.  That means sitting in the house.  Watched a couple of classic movies (real movies, the Back to the Future trilogy) and played a bunch of games on my tablet.  And that is what I'm going to talk about tonight.

Who Should Pay for That?

Tonight there was something on the local news that really annoyed me.  And it effects every American that is reading this.  Does it effect anyone outside of America?  I can't answer that for sure, but it might.

Speech Issues

Tonight's post is all about a problem that seems to be growing.  There are only 2 choices for local news in Syracuse (the local affiliate for NBC also owns the CBS affiliate).  But even before that, we watched the ABC affiliate because it's actually got the best local content.  But there is a problem that is growing at the station.

Why are They Advertising?

Over the last couple of nights, I've seen a commercial played a couple of times.  The commercial is what actually bugs me.  They aren't selling anything and I really can't figure out why they are advertising.  Yeah, you guessed it, hit the link to find out what.

They Must Be Ahead of the Curve

Didn't catch the news tonight.  We went out to a local Mexican joint to celebrate Cinco de Mayo.  But I did catch something that I found a little annoying yesterday on the news.  What was annoying about it?  They made it sound like there was an option.  Hit the link to find out what I'm talking about.

Food Network Gone All MTV

Do you remember when MTV played music all the time?  Or even most of the time?  I do.  And as I've watched the Food Network over the years, cooking has become less and less important.  Really starting to get to a point where there is little cooking at all.

A Ghost Town

Not sure about anyone else but I'm really tired of hearing the same thing over and over from every news source out there.  Perhaps they should really take a look before they make comments and write stories about it.  Yeah, I'm going to go off on the news again.

But I Found It Online

The age of the internet and digital files has changed a lot of things in our lives.  Digital content has given us millions of texts from around the world at our fingertips.  It's also done a lot for seeing photographs of areas of the world that would have never been taken before.  But it's also brought about a lot of issues regarding that content.

Electronic Insurance

I've got one that I should have gone off on before but I think I just didn't have time.  This is one that I was reminded of again tonight when my youngest dropped his tablet and the screen cracked.  He isn't the reason I'm ticked off though, it was an honest accident, and that's why I purchase the insurance for it.  It's really about the insurance.

I Need to Do It Again?

Tonight I have one that I have run into very often.  In fact, I ran into it once again just before my recent vacation.  It's something that needs to change but probably won't though it doesn't need to.  Read on to find out about it as it does effect most everyone, in the world.

I've Got an Appointment

I collected a couple of ideas prior to the vacation.  And since it was an actual vacation, I didn't fire the laptop up at all so I've got them for now.  This one is based on an experience that we had prior to leaving.  I just find it very annoying!

That's Parenting

I have to apologize for missing a week with posting but you need to understand that it is my first vacation in 8 years where we went somewhere.  And it's the first one in 17 or 18 years that we've gone somewhere that is a "vacation spot" so to say.  Very enjoyable for the most part.  And it was very nice to see such big smiles on the faces of my family.  So you may be wondering what am I going to rant about, read on and you'll find out.

How Stupid Do They Think We Are?

Not sure about the advertising in your area but here in New York one of the fast food giants has begun advertising for a new breakfast menu.  That's not what bothers me, more choice is always good for the consumer.  What bothers me is the advertisement itself.

What am I Paying For?

Another suggestion from a friend, yes it's the same one, I don't have all that many but I'm fine with that.  Unlike last night's post though, this isn't exactly what he suggested.  I'd tell you what he suggested but it'd give everything away.  And that's what they will tell you if you were to ask the people that tonight's rant is about, they'd ask if you wanted them to give it away.

When Was That Written?

So for tonight I've got one that was suggested by a good friend.  The funny part about it is that this friend (yes I do consider him to be that) is someone I've never met.  I only know him through interaction on Google+ and instant messaging.  A few weeks ago he posted something regarding the entertainment industry, it bugged me then and still does.  Now I have a few minutes to write about it.

A Problem with Social Media

As social media grows to be much more of a norm for a large portion of how we interact with people, several problems arise.  And these are going to become more and more relevant as social media grows.  And this is platform independent.  It doesn't matter if you are using Facebook, Twitter, or my preference, Google+.  What are these problems?  You'l have to click the link to find out...
