Liposuction Study

There was yet another stupid study that I'm sure used up more of the little funds that we have in the United States for truly important things.  This one has to do with liposuction, apparently the most common cosmetic surgery in the United States.  And this study has several problems from my perspective.

I'll only touch on 2 of them as they are the biggest that I have a problem with.  The first of which has to do with the size of the study.  They based the entire analysis on a whopping, wait for it...wait for it..., 28 individuals.  That's right, 14 under each part of the study.  I have a real issue with opinion polls for the same reason that I have an issue with this.  There are billions of people in the world and 14 are supposed to represent what will happen after you have liposuction?  What a load of crap that is.  How about performing the study with some real numbers.

The second issue that I have is the stupidity factor.  The study was to find out if you need to exercise after you have liposuction done to reduce your weight.  That is a pretty stupid study!  You need to exercise to keep the weight off no matter what you do to lose the weight.  That just seems like someone found a loophole so that they could get some cash.

Studies like this are what is helping to raise our national debt so fast.  The problem is that too many people don't think about where the money for these studies are coming from.  There needs to be some changes in how this money is handed out.
