ReplyDeleteMan, I know what you mean about people jumping on the religious bandwagon when it suits their purpose. Down here in the south, we have a lot of Baptists. They aren't suppose to gamble or drink and I had one in my money fantasy league and every Sunday (after he went to church) he'd go to the sports bar with me and have a beer. Great guy to hang out with, but that always rubbed me the wrong way.
I'm also with you on the "finding God" thing. I was brought up Catholic as well, but I don't believe someone is condemned if they don't follow every rule set forth by the church. We're taught that God is all loving and all forgiving and I have a hard time believing that an entity that is like that would damn a good person to hell....that just doesn't compute.
